Hi!
I think, you don't need two BSM license, only one. If I right remember.

Here is what you do.

Install the standard client and the MS SQL BSM on both nodes. You need the
standard client license for both nodes, the Cluster license for both nodes,
and the MS SQL BSM license for both nodes.

If we assume the two nodes are named Cnode1 and Cnode2 then set up the
following file system backups:

Nodename Saveset
========        =======
Cnode1 All
Cnode2 All
Cnode0 All
Cnode1d All

Then set up the following SQL backup

Nodename Saveset
========        =======
Cnode1s MSSQL:

Networker should be smart enough not to back up anything twice.
When you specify the 2 physical nodes (Cnode1 and Cnode2) they should only
backup the non clustered disks.

Cnode1d should only backup the shared disks.

Cnode0 should only backup the cluster info.

Cnode1s is the virtual SQL node.

Subject: [Networker] MSCS Backups

Hi, All.

Does anyone have procedures for backing up two Windows 2000 systems with a
SQL Server 2000
database, all of which are in a MSCS (Microsoft Cluster)? I want to get
file system backups and
database backups (hot. I figure the Networker SQL Server module somehow can
be used) and
it would be a good idea if you could provide some ideas about the procedure
for restoring all this,
too. Just in case I'm not being clear, the database is clustered, too. The
database is
the major reason for the cluster.

I'd like responses from someone who has actually done this type of
backup/restore or who knows
of a resource (web, book, person) for me.

My networker server is NW 6.1.1 on Solaris 8.

Thanks.

Jon
