I know I can define clients multiple times with unique
save sets to control how many simultaneous 'streams'
are sent from each client during backups.

My question is, can one use the Client Parallelism
setting to get Networker to send more than one
stream per volume? I've seen in the documentation
under client settings warnings not to set the
parallelism higher than the number of physical disks
(implying you could hit multiple streams per
volume and run into a disk read bottleneck?). This
is on page 35 of the Performance Tuning Guide.

I have a couple of larger (~400GB) volumes that
dominate my backup window, but because I currently
only get one stream running per volume, some of
my DLT7000 heads sit idle half way through my
backup window. I'm going to define multiple clients
with save sets that split up these bigger volumes,
but that's a messy path to go down if there's
a better way. I think my disk could easily handle
a couple of streams per volume without running
into a read bottleneck.
