We've had problems with hung drives at our site during cloning. Upgrading
to Networker 6.1.3 has not really fixed the problems.

On our Solaris 8 server, we run fuser against the drive to look for a
running process. This doesn't always report a process back, but it's
something to try.

fuser /dev/rmt/1stcbn (where everything after fuser is the device name)

Also in Solaris 8 (?earlier versions), there's a ptree command. It shows
the running processes in a tree format. Grepping for defunct processes
(parent not watching child) might help expose a hung process.

ptree | grep defunct

Hope this helps.
