We've just expanded and upgraded our backup system to a backup server
and one storage node.

Backup Server: Networker 6.2 / Win2k Adv Server /
Storage Node: Networker 6.1.2 / RedHat 7.2
Clients: 120+
Jukebox: ADIC Scalar 1000 w/ 4 SDLT 220 drives (2 for the server & 2
for the Storage Node)

I have questions on the tape drives/device drivers for for Windows and
Linux.

Currently, my jukebox is configured to use \\.\Tape0 & \\.\Tape1 for
Windows devices, and /dev/st0 and /dev/st1 for Linux devices.

I know next to nothing about tuning the Windows devices, and was
wondering if I could get a little guidance from others that are using
Windows.

I'm also wondering if I can use the mode 2 drivers (/dev/st0m and
/dev/st1m) on my Linux storage node for blocksize of 1024 and
compression enabled. Is there something equivalent to this in
windows???

I'm looking for the best tape configs for my configuration. The drives
are getting OK rates (8MB/s), but if I can get more out of them, I'd
like to since they can handle more.

Thoughts?
