Ignorance which leads one to pose a sensible question is commendable.
However ignorance which causes incorrect facts to be propagated is inexcusable.

Well, no, it's not. It should not need auto media management to do this.
Assuming that this is a jukebox device (not standalone) and that the tape is
recyclable and not set to manual recycle, it should recycle into the same
pool to satisfy a mount request when necessary. A "suggest mounting" or
"suggest relabelling" message should appear after a short time, then it
should get up and do it. It does look like you have a problem, and auto
media management is not the logical solution. Strange that it seemed to do
the trick.
