Hi!!

Do I have to set this environment variable on the networker server or the
client??? (or both)

What value do I have to give to the environment variable NSR_NT_NO_POSIX???

Thank!!!

Hello,

I belive that you have to use the NSR_NT_NO_POSIX environment variable.
If you use this Networker will not handle NTOSKERNEL.EXE ntoskernel.exe
as diffrent files..

NSR_NT_NO_POSIX

In order to support the short name and POSIX filenames feature, we have
decided to introduce an environment variable (NSR_NT_NO_POSIX) for customers
that need to recover short names to specify, to turn off the POSIX feature,
and hence get the short name recover to work.

Default behavior is POSIX feature stays intact.

Subject: [Networker] Recover NT server

Hi all!!

I'm trying to do a recover of a NT machine and I have some problems.

First, my backup server is a NT (4.0 sp6) machine with version 6.1.1 of
Networker. The server that I want to restore is also a NT (4.0 sp6) machine
with version 6.1.1 of Networker. I reinstall my server completely. I also
reinstall the client 6.1.1 of Networker. I did the restore and everything
works fine. The problem appends when I reboot the server. It doesn't want
to reboot because of a problem with the "ntoskrnl" (NT OS Kernell). I boot
my server with a NTFSDOS diskette and I found lots of duplicate files. For
example, I have two ntoskrnl.exe files. One with the name ntoskrnl.exe and
the other with the name ntoskrnl.exe.a00150a. It's the same for all my
systems files.

Anybody can help???
