robert,

here is a script that i've written for a little more advanced cloning. it
uses perl. you will probably also have to install the proc::background
module. it uses several different methods to determine what savesets
should be cloned. it's currently set up to only make one clone of each
saveset and run on four drives (2 read / 2 write). with a little
modification, though, i'm sure you can take out or put in anything you
want.

it basically functions as

clone "<mminfo type query string>" "clone pool"

if anyone else likes the script or has any suggestions / modifications,
please let me know. i also run it chiefly on solaris, so i'm not sure if
their is anything OS specific i've used in there.

the script can be downloaded from http://www.slackerific.com/legato/clone

Does anyone have a good shell/perl type script that'll take complete,
full backups that haven't been cloned and clone them off to tapes?
We're currently using one from someone who left and the sucker is rather
complicated just trying to figure out what's valid to clone. Before I
write my own I'd like to look at some other's examples and see what
options there are to do it faster and easier.

Robert
