As at release 6.1, NetWorker could not even be restored from one flavour of
Unix to another without losing all client indexes and media database.
Legato stated at the time that this was not a supported operation, and our
support company could not get it to work either.  The theory is quite
pretty, but in practice you are restricted by, as Stan says, the way in
which the data is stored on the machine.  We were able to run a partially
successful mmrecov which restored the nsr.res file, but that was it.  We
were transferring from Solaris to HP-UX.
