Hi Teresa,
We are using ait-2 and have had several problems with the drives and
tapes, i still get errors in the messages file on our server(sun E450),
so i dont know if u would have better luck on another os brand or not.

We tend to use STK libraries - not had huge problems with them.
We are in the process of checnging from DLT to LTO - for speed and
capacity
(decision made before SDLT320's were out) with one small lightly loaded
L40
with 2 drives performing for ~6 months with only one media error as
the
only problem.
currently moving over to  2 L700's and an L5500.
