Should still work. We have 6.1.1. In a script you can do the following:
Create a file OS.txt with contents:

show client OS type
. Type:NSR client;name:<client name>
print

Then call the file with
nsradmin -i OS.txt

Problem is that you will get an output for each client definition of the
same client.

Cheers

Subject: [Networker] determining client OS from nsradmin ?

I've looked through the archives for this one, but didn't find what I
was looking for. So here goes...

I'd like to run nsradmin on a given NetWorker server and, for each
client, determine the client OS. The goal eventually is to report the
number of UNIX and NT/win2k hosts being backed up by a given NetWorker
server.

Using nsradmin and displaying hidden fields, I can see a field called
"client OS type", which would seem to fill my need amply. However, from
my experience, client builds after about 5.2.1 or so don't report this
information any longer.

Anybody have a method for achieving this goal?
TIA,
-ty
