Chris - no problems with cp, mv or other file movement commands with 6.x
Totally portable as compared to the 5.x days. Also, nsrck has more options
which enables single step recoveries of indices unlike the v 5.x days.
nsrck -L7 would be the option to look into when you are testing.

My problem with this has always been the time it takes to restore the CFI's.
In version 5, after an mmrecov, I would pull up the nwrecover GUI to restore
some 250 client file indexes and it would periodically hang and would take
seemingly forever!

Is this process improved in version 6.x? If so, I would be inclined to use
it.

I was planning a test of this in my lab this week.

Don't you back them up using networker? (Hint Hint Hint....)
It would be good practice to simulate a disaster recovery.
Thats what I did.
