Make sure you mount the tape through Legato and that you have it in the
first drive.

I am having to run mmrecov on my backup server.

I am having to go back a few bootstrap reports to capture the media dbase
when it was last ok, has become corrupt.

I am running mmrecov and entering the info  ssid, file#, record# and then I
am manually placing the tape into the drive, but as soon as I hit this off
it fails:

mmrecov: failed to start scanner
mmrecov aborted
and the command prompt comes back with
>uasm: invalid save stream

HELP?
