Going back to v5.40 is the answer -- however, it's not as easy as you'd
think.  If you just install 5.40 over the top and check the box to overwrite
newer versions, it still doesn't work.  The answer is blowing away dll
files, sys files, and registry keys.  I've done it successfully once so far
and it was a nightmarish process.

Matt,

Where having a problem backing up a W2k client that had SupportPaq
5.50 installed and has a gigabit card.   We're actually at (now)
5.50 and Gigabit driver 3.63.363.  If we run the Networker service
from the command line backups work, if run it as a regular service
backup don't ; error is a silent exit...it does not find any savesets.

Another thread on this concluded to go back to SupportPaq 5.40?

Is 5.50.1.0  a fix for W2K Networker problems?

Sorry for the confusion; my Compaq knowledge is quite limited.
