We don't have this problem under 6.1.1, when we first upgraded, it would
do this or completely drop the connection. There was one reg hack that we
had to do to get W2K to work right. Sorry I don't remember what it was.

On 6.1.1 I have adjusted the refresh rate multiple times but never for
volumes to an excessive time. It was not a problem on previous versions.

It's probably the refresh of the index and volume list. I have the same
problem when working with big environment. I have set refresh rate to 5s and
index and volume refresh rate to 14400 (4hours).

Doing so, it's working fine and it refresh the index and volume list during
lunch time.

James, are you talking about the GUI fading out when the Networker is
chugging along with backups and/or other processes? If so, you could change
your "polling" interval to a higher number. I think by default it is set to
"2", but you can increase this amount and therefore the application won't
repaint the Networker GUI as often.

Click on "Options, Polling Interval" from the main window of the GUI to make
your changes.

Has anyone found a way to avoid the screen 10 to 20 second screen locks on
the 6.1.1 NWADMIN GUI. In task manager I have noticed the NWADMIN uses up
100% of the resources when this happens. Doing any work with this problem is
really painstaking.
