Looks for me a name resolution issue or because the client has some
digit in the name (I remember some problems with version 5.x).

Some tests to do :

from both side, check :
Client -> Server
 ping <Client short name>
 ping <Client long name>
 ping <Client IP>

 nslookup <Client short name>
 nslookup <Client long name>
 nslookup <Client IP>

 ping <server short name>
 ping <server long name>
 ping <server IP>

 nslookup <server short name>
 nslookup <server long name>
 nslookup <server IP>

 check DNS DOMAIN names.

 rpcinfo -p <Client short name>
 rpcinfo -p <Client short name>
 rpcinfo -p <Client short name>

 rpcinfo -p <Server short name>
 rpcinfo -p <Server short name>
 rpcinfo -p <Server short name>

Then post "savegrp -pnvvvv -c <client> <group>" output
launched on the backup server.

Change from "all" to "c:\" in the client's saveset list.
and retry above savegrp command.

If it still doesn't work :
Edit backup server host file and add "IP short_name FQDN"
for the server and for the client.

Edit client's host file and fill IP for the client and for the
server. Restart nsrexecd on the client.

Check also if the client is not configured with DHCP Addr.

Restart above "savegrp" test.

If it still doesn't work, issue a "save -s <server> -l full -b <pool> c:\"
to determine if the client can sent to the server. (or use winworkr.exe
to start a client initiated backup).

is the client behind a Firewall ? is the client a cluster member ?
Is the client name correct (or are you reaching the correct system ?)

Thierry

 Hi all!
Sorry to disappoint you, but I doubt that the SSD 5.50
is the problem. I have customers running NW 6.1.1 and
SSD 5.50 without problems. As long as you update the
NIC agent to version 5.50.1.0 you shouldn't have any
problems with SSD 5.50. Even the 3.63.363 version of
the Compaq Gbit NIC driver is working. And trust me,
I've seen all the problems with older versions!

On the other hand, maybe this is related to SP3?
