I have a mysql database where the data resides on a qtree on a NetApp volume.
To backup the database I shut it down and and create a snapshot for the volume
and then restart the database.
I than backup the snapshot using the following command:
# nsrndmp_save -T dump -c rifle -l full -g NetApp
/vol/vol2/.snapshot/mysql/biodb
The snapshot I created is called mysql and the qtree is /vol/vol2/biodb
The backup completes as you can see below.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

pollen 10:03 [1003] # ./nsrndmp_save -T dump -c rifle -l full -g NetApp
/vol/vol2/.snapshot/mysql/biodb

Now I want to recover my qtree using nsrndmp_recover, however my saveset is
"/vol/vol2/.snapshot/mysql/biodb" and not /vol/vol2/biodb as would have
occured had I not specified the snapshot.

Normally you cannot overwrite a snapshot on a NetApp so does anyone know if I
try to restore the saveset if it will it work?

Networker 6.1.2 Build 340 on Solaris 9, OnTap 6.2.1 on the NetApp.

The lack of information from Legato and NetApp on handling NDMP and the
numerous restrictions (euphemism for bugs) has me close to weeping.
