Re: [Networker] win2k mounted volumes fail to backup

A little more info... This system also seems to backup incredible
slow(while it's backing up). It has a GigE card that based on FTP
throughput tests is working fine. Volumes reside on very fast (EMC
Symmetrix) disk. The filesystems have millions of small files which
will slow a backup down, but the system it replaced still pushed at
least 4MB/s.
TIA,
Joel
Hey All,
Anyone have any success/problems backing up a win2k mounted volume? We
have a system that has the below volumes.
C:
D:\
D:\r2wd3\1999_rpts
D:\r2wd3\2000_rpts
D:\r2wd3\2001_rpts
D:\r2wd3\2002_rpts
....
..
Each one of the above has a separate logical disk "mount"(unix term) to
that point.
The backup starts then hangs after about 30 minutes, but during that 30
minutes data _is_ coming from the system to tape. Eventually(~90
minutes later - timeout value is set to 180 minutes) I get the below
message in my logs.
10/17/02 20:00:19 savegrp: server.nt.wfubmc.edu:D:\R2WD3\1998_Rpts
failed.
10/17/02 20:00:19 savegrp: server.nt.wfubmc.edu:D:\R2WD3\1998_Rpts will
retry 1 more time(s)
Server: E450/Solaris 2.6/Solstice Backup 6.0.3
Client:Compaq/win2k/Networker Client 6.1.1
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks,
joel
