What I realized after some testing shown that it might cause by firewall,
the storage node is inside DMZ and the backup server is outside DMZ, some
how could be communication ports drop. Once I restarted the Networker
services on both servers, it backs to normal for a while.

Have try to open very wide range in service ports and connection ports,
thinking to narrow now eventually.

Any help, cheeerrr...
Robert

My guess would be a pool problem. Please describe the pool(s).

Thanks

Subject: [Networker] DDS with 3 storage nodes

Hi Networkers,

My SAN environment as below, all running W2K with NW6.1.1 using DDS sharing
a single HP LTO drive.
Server A : Backup server/Storage Node
Server B : Storage Node
Server C : Storage Node

Three of the servers are grouped into Daily_Full backup group
The DDS operation for above 3 servers should be
"Server A will mount the tape to drive, after finished backup, it unmount
the tape then Server B owns the tape drive and mount the tape for backup
then unmount the tape, Server C then owns the tape drive and mount the tape
then unmount the tape after it's backup completed. Back to Server A to do
indexes backup for server B & C and bootstrap backup"

The problem is after Server A, B & C completed it's own backup. Tape was
unmounted from drive. The operation just idle. The Whole group seem like
hanging. Server A supposes to move a tape in for indexes and bootstrap
backup right, only backup server can backup indexes and bootstrap.

What go wrong ? Any ideas....

Cheers...
Robert
