In an ideal world, you would never have to manually add aliases to client
definitions. If your DNS is set up to reverse lookup a second NIC back to
the primary hostname, it should correctly set the aliases up as required
and correctly authorise the client to the server. However I have worked at
many sites with disfunctional DNS configs, sadly the norm rather than the
exception.
