Taken in isolation, the only answer to your question is to use IP routing.
This may involve setting a static route on the client and the server to
direct packets between these two machines.

Looking at the wider picture, you don't say whether or not your server
and/or storage nodes are multi-homed or not. If so there may be other
possibilities using server network interface or storage node settings in
the client definition.
