I can think of a quick and dirty way: use the commandline recover
command. For example, say you want know now about /etc/hosts.allow,
use the versions query to find out when this file was last backed up
and to what volume(s). From my own system:

% recover -s SERVER
recover> cd /etc

Then use the versions query:

recover> versions hosts.allow

Versions of `/etc/hosts.allow':

   2 -r--r--r-- 1491 Sep 17 12:42 hosts.allow
     save time: Sat Sep 28 01:07:13 2002
      location: TaylorIncr.026 at DLT3

   2 -r--r--r-- 1491 Sep 17 12:42 hosts.allow
     save time: Sat Sep 21 01:04:45 2002
      location: TaylorIncr.022 at DLT2

   2 -r--r--r-- 1491 Sep 17 12:42 hosts.allow
     save time: Wed Sep 18 01:07:58 2002
      location: TaylorIncr.026 at DLT3

   2 -r--r--r-- 1479 Feb 13 2002 hosts.allow
     save time: Sat Sep 7 01:16:54 2002
      location: TaylorFull.008

   2 -r--r--r-- 1479 Feb 13 2002 hosts.allow
     save time: Sat Aug 3 01:20:07 2002
      location: TaylorFull.011 at T1889-R1021

Hope this helps!
