hello stan
I had the same problem some time ago. I got a patch to fix it.
Unfortunatly the patch only helped on savesets created after
the patch was installed. I had to split the recover into several
pices.

Subject: [Networker] Problem restoring a directory

Good morning;

I am trying to restore a directory consisting of about 11GB of data across
713,000 files. The data were backed up on a Windows NT 4.0 machine with
Networker 5.2. The data need to be restored to a Windows 2000 machine with
Networker 6.1.1. The NT machine is still in production. We are trying to
replicate the data from the NT machine to the 2000 machine.

The backup server is a Tru64 4.0f Unix system with Power Edition NetWorker
6.1.1 on it. When I attempted to do a test restore involving a few
individual files, the restore worked fine using NetWorker's recover
utility interactively via a DOS command window. Last night, before I left
the office, I issued the commands "add user", then I typed "recover"
before the process of building the list of files to restore was finished
so that I could go home without waiting hours for the list to build.
After waiting a while to see if the process appeared to be working
properly, the command window on the Windows 2000 system began to show the
list of individual files as it determined which files needed to be
restored. The files come from one full backup done a few days ago, then
just one incremental. When I arrived at work today, for each file that's
in the recover list, I saw a message along the lines of

"can't get volume information" for each file in the list.

however, before I initiated this "add", I did a versions on the directory
in question and it displayed the volume info properly.

I have a call to Legato pending on this issue, however, I am wondering if
anyone on this list has ever dealt with this problem and can offer me any
suggestions on how to fix it.

Thanks
