Hi All,

Firs of all, thanks a lot for all of your replies.

Problem is solved and below you could see the problem summary.
-timeout value changing
-reinstalling networker
-trying with admin and other admin equal passwords.
-disabling open file support
-installing TSA5up9
-checking NDS rigths
All of the things above did not work. And again I did not take any reply to
my backup
process of my backup server and also my manual backups were unsuccessful.
After I uninstalled it again and installed it without "open file support".
I know it is strange but without installing snapshot.nlm it works!!

At the moment my backup problem was solved but I beleive it is begining of
another
important problem related with snapshot.nlm.
As I know last snapshot version is at Networker 4.21 which I work with.
Is there any patches for snapshot.nlm?

Some problem occurs while trying to create virtual volume I belive and for
this reason my backups were unsuccessful.
However if Open File Support is installed on my client I can disable it but
disabling open file support did not solve the
problem.
After uninstalling it completelly I started to take my backups.

Best Regards
cigdem

Cigdem,

I bet you've already tried these solutions, but it can't hurt.

Try setting the timeout to 0.

load smdr new and make sure the name and password are in there properly.

Also, you might want to reload or get the latest TSA version. Are you
getting any TSA messages in the logs or is it just the inactivity?

BTW, are you running the novell clients Open File Support. I got numerous
abends because of that.

Just some suggestions. I had this a while back and can't seem to find out
what I did to fix it but, I'll double check through my documentation.

Good luck and let us know ,
Phil.

Hi Again,

My manual backup is also unsuccessful.
I can not abort it also.
I think I should wait the timeout value and again I can not take any
response
to my novell server.

Have you got any idea?
Any help with this would be appreciated.

Hi,

Yes I tried.

At first it does not allow me to login to the manual backup menu with my
username and password.
After, I tried admin user and password but again I can not login to manual
backup window.
At last again I try to login with admin password and it allows me.
But my password should also work because it is admin equal password and
context which we use for our backups.
For this reason to see if my password works or not I exited from Networker
menu to reopen manual backup window
with my password again and when I exited from Networker with F2>Exit my dear
Novell server abended and I should
stop/start it from its button.

As a result I can not complete to test manual backup. But today I try it
again.
Thanks for you reply
cigdem

The backup user must be able to read all files.

Have you tried starting a backup on the netware host?
