Thanks for clearing that up my uncertainties about MAKEDEV at 5.x!
I have 5.x but our Tru64 NetWorker server is only running 4.0f,
so I've never had to deal with media changers at 5.x.
Still, Itzik indicated in email he sent me that neither `hwmgr' or
`inquire' even see the device on the SCSI bus, so I don't think it is
(at this point) an issue with the ddr.dbase. It's my understanding that
either command should report all devices on the bus, whether or not the
OS knows how to deal with them.
