Jim, you may wish to stop your current networker job from the GUI. What
does the networker GUI say about your current backup status?

Greetings,

I am new here, so please forgive any breeches of protocol.

I'm using Legato v5.5 build 38 on an NT4.0 box (SP6). Currently we're
backing up both UNIX (Solaris) and NT/W2K clients.

Problem:

Legato has stopped working. Log files merely state: "Networker Savegroup:
(alert) group normal aborted, savegroup is already running"

This was the last entry (dated 08/19/2002); since then, there should have
been two daily backups (the next scheduled FULL is tomorrow).

This has occurred in the past and usually if I unload the tape magazine and
reboot the machine, it seems to go back and "do the right thing". This time
is different for some reason.

Unfortunately, the Legato help files are of no help at all and the
documentation isn't much help either (although I haven't had a chance to
read or memorize all 500 pages of the admin manual).

I'm not sure what to do to even diagnose the problem. *Any*
suggestions/recommendations (besides a speed reading course) to begin
diagnosing/correcting the problem would be welcome.

-Jim
