This only happens when a tape was labeled and writen with a blocksize of
32768 before. As you said, this hapens when you first worked on a medium
with a device by 32kb blocksize setting and now you using it on an 64k
blocksize device without relabeling it with the new blocksize before.

Anyway you can still read all of your saved data. Networker sets filemarks
on a tape for faster positioning, this will increase performance for example
on a recover or any operation where positioning is involved. In your case
this feature will be disabled on this tape until you label it with 64kb.

Betreff: [Networker] Blocksize on DLT7000

I occasionally see the message:
"\\.\Tapex Block size is 32768 bytes not 65536 bytes. Verify the device
configuration. Tape positioning by record is disabled.

How and why would this happen, perhaps the tape came from a previous
DLT4000 pool ? It only happens on some tapes, so I am confident that the
device is setup correctly.

Does the latter part of this message (positioning) mean that a single file
restore cannot be performed ?
