Take a look at your maximum process size limit on the server.

You're running out of virtual memory on the box, likely because you don't
have enough physical RAM and/or enough swap space.
"Out of space" or "not enough space" are very typical UNIX messages that
mean "not enough virtual memory to do what I'm trying to do".
