So I am backing up to volumes on a separate disk drive for my email server. I thought I'd lost my original 500gb drive but this turned out to be the sata controller instead. In the meantime I had attached a 2TB disk and I have been backing up to this.
My wish if possible since I have recovered these backup files off the 500gb drive is to pull their contents back into bacula so I can restore an old file if need be but not stuff up Local-0028 nor Local-0034 which seem to be valid. If I cannot do that I will live with the loss but I'd like to recover an early "tape" if I can.
If you did not deleted your "lost" volumes from catalog then you can simple transfer them to the correct location and use it as usual. I see that same of your volumes has a status of Error, so it is possible (but not guaranteed) to change this status from Error to i.e. Full and use as usual.
So my disk structure looks like this,
============ root@warlocke:/bacula/backup# ls -l total 242034528 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 108 Oct 25 14:53 archive -rw-r----- 1 bacula tape 53687027950 Nov 6 23:09 Local-0001 -rw-r----- 1 bacula tape 16133765463 Nov 19 23:11 Local-0002 -rw-r----- 1 bacula tape 53687036451 Aug 8 01:04 Local-0017 -rw-r----- 1 bacula tape 53687039015 Sep 5 16:51 Local-0023 -rw-r----- 1 bacula tape 53687056553 Jan 14 23:11 Local-0028 -rw-r----- 1 bacula tape 4279127939 Jan 24 23:12 Local-0029 -rw-r----- 1 bacula tape 10616901216 Jan 26 10:48 Local-0034 root@warlocke:/bacula/backup# ls -al archive/ total 62238516 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 108 Oct 25 14:53 . drwxrwxr-x 3 bacula bacula 139 Jan 26 06:58 .. -rw-r----- 1 bacula bacula 24387874497 Oct 14 12:44 Local-0003 -rw-r----- 1 bacula bacula 3574119505 Oct 14 12:50 Local-0004 -rw-r----- 1 bacula bacula 201 Jun 21 2016 Local-0011 -rw-r----- 1 bacula bacula 25142864762 Jun 29 2016 Local-0012 -rw-r----- 1 bacula bacula 10152122461 Aug 28 23:17 Local-0018 -rw-r----- 1 bacula bacula 475246886 Nov 10 2015 Local-0019 root@warlocke:/bacula/backup# ============
Only volume Local-0028 and 34 are I think valid? possibly Local-0001? in the web ui (and below) the rest that are even seen have "error"
I do not understand your structure. Which are your "lost" volumes and which are your current and new (on 2TB new drive)?
I would like to recover at least one early volume if I can.
