Yes, I agree with what you say Gary that running a Director on Windows 
makes me nervous.  One of the problems is that it also requires MySQL or 
PostgreSQL, unless you run it over the network to a Linux machine, and 
then why not just run the Director on Linux, which is what we currently 
support.

It is little known, because I didn't want to make a big deal of it, that 
the Windows Storage daemon for disk backup only is also available in the 
current Bacula Windows binaries.  It is part of the Windows FD 
installer.  I do not really recommend it, but in some instances of doing 
backup in a DMZ, it can be very useful for LAN free backup, especially 
if you can connect the SD to a big SCSI disk array.

I am planning to release the Windows Director in the future (a year or 
two), but only after sufficient testing, and for the moment myself and 
the other developers are working on some important new features.
