"Hello-

I'm trying to get the Bacula SNMP subagent working.
I've installed/copied everything in the proper directories(I think), made all
config file modifications, and am able to get some output when I run
"bacula-snmp-stats.pl -d -d -a" as shown in the README.txt,
http://www.bayour.com/bacula-snmp/README.txt
however something seems to be wrong because if I run an smnptable command like
this:
"snmptable -v 2c -c public localhost .1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.5" I receive this:
"BAYOUR-COM-MIB::baculaClientsTable: No entries"
It seems that snmptable knows that I'm looking for the baculaClientsTable but I
don't know why there's nothing there.

I'm sure it's something stupid I'm missing.

Update 1/28

Today I noticed a few more things I'd like to add if anyone out there is
actually thinking about this one.

Running this command: "snmptranslate -IR -On baculaStatsTable"

returns the OID for that particular item: .1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.9

That's all fine and good and tells me the MIB is probably working, however I
can't seem to get much beyond that. As I stated before if I attempt to do an
snmptable command it returns no entries in whatever table I'm looking at.

I am able to do this command: "snmpwalk -c public -v1 localhost" and get lots
of output.

It feels like I've got almost everything working but am missing one final
ingredient. I really hope someone out there knows what that is. From
researching about the bacula snmp agent I know there are a few of you that have
frequented this forum in the past that may know. I hope one or all can chime
in. Smile Also, if anyone else knows of ways to monitor Bacula other than this,
feel free to let me know that as well.

Just for reference I am running Bacula 5.0.1 with a MySQL DB on Ubuntu Server
10.04.4 LTS.
Perl 5.10.1
net-snmp/snmpd 5.4.2.1

Much thanks."

Update 1/30

Something very strange just happened. Trying to do an snmpwalk command of the
tree for the bacula snmp agent finally returned something, but then it paused
and gave up right in the middle with a "timeout no response from localhost"
error.

I tried the same command again and received the timeout error almost instantly
every time after.

Here is a shortened example:
# snmpwalk -On -v 1 -c public localhost .1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.1.0 = INTEGER: 8
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.2.0 = INTEGER: 106
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.3.0 = INTEGER: 10
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.4.0 = INTEGER: 35
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.5.1.1.1 = INTEGER: 1
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.5.1.1.2 = INTEGER: 2
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.5.1.1.3 = INTEGER: 3
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.5.1.1.4 = INTEGER: 4
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.5.1.1.5 = INTEGER: 5
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.5.1.1.6 = INTEGER: 6
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.5.1.1.7 = INTEGER: 7
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.5.1.1.8 = INTEGER: 8
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.5.1.2.1 = STRING: 1
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.5.1.2.2 = STRING: 2
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.5.1.2.3 = STRING: 3
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.5.1.2.4 = STRING: 4
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.5.1.2.5 = STRING: 5
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.5.1.2.6 = STRING: 6
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.5.1.2.7 = STRING: 7
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.5.1.2.8 = STRING: 8
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.5.1.3.1 = STRING:
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.5.1.6.7 = INTEGER: 1687
.1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3.5.1.6.8 = INTEGER: 1687
Timeout: No Response from localhost

# snmpwalk -On -v 1 -c public localhost .1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3
Timeout: No Response from localhost

# snmpwalk -On -v 1 -c public localhost .1.3.6.1.4.1.8767.2.3
Timeout: No Response from localhost

Very, very weird.

Another update...

I can reproduce this right after a reboot of the Ubuntu Server.
