Hi Philip,

Bacula doesn’t have any issues with LTO6 media in general. I’m running with HP LTO6 drives (in a Fujitsu LT60 S2, which I understand to be functionally identical to an HP MSL4048) perfectly happily.

Regards,

Ben Roberts

Hi,

I am also a little concerned about the LTO6 tapes. Bacula can handle those as well?

Thanks

Hi list,

We just bought a new IBM TS3100 Tape Lib with LTO6 Cartrigdes. Since I don’t want to spend another fortune on software I was wondering if it is possible to get Bacula working with that Tape Lib. The Setup is as followed:

Essentially there is just one server which needs to be backuped (which carries a lot of data since it holds next generation sequencing data). The Server itself is connected to the storage via SAS. The Tape Lib and the server which need to be backuped are in the same (Ethernet)network. Server is running Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 6.3. As mentioned the Lib is a TS3100 (IBM) with LTO6 cartrigdes.

Any help or hint what Software I can use is highly appreciated.

Thank you,

Phil
