Thank you for the reply Ana, but if you read my comments again, you'll see that I've checked the size and see no problem, I even changed the /tmp dir of mysql to "/tmp/ram" using a 2GB tmpfs.

Also the mysqldump command works so my guess is that its not the /tmp/ dir!

The dir the backup goes to is the bacula home dir, I've manually made a mysqldump to that same dir and it also works, and there's plenty of space left so I'm really clueless to the error!

Maybe you do not have enough space at the /tmp during the script dump or maybe you do not have enough space at the directory where your make_catalog_backup.pl script is trying to put your .sql dump. Have you checked where the .sql is being placed by your make_catalog_backup.pl script and by your mysqldump using root account?

The problem is my /tmp dir is not full (even tried to change to a 2GB tmpfs) and /var/lib/bacula is also not full, not are any other dirs for that matter!

If I do a manual mysqldump with the root user all works fine!

What could the issue be?
