Hi Dan,
sorry for wasting your time. After investigating I found out that one 
tape drive is working OK, while the other one shows a strange behavior
sending an end of tape after 1.5 TB (LTO6 should be 2.5 uncompressed).
I now called assistance and I am waiting for them.
