I'm not an expert, but this has worked for me in the past:

bscan -s -m -c /etc/bacula/bacula-sd.conf -v -V FSI-LES /dev/nst0

Good luck!

Subject: [Bacula-users] How can I restore the data on a tape which I remove
from the catalog ?

Hi,

I'm a newbie with bacula...I have saved data on a tape. Then remove the tape
from the library. and then I delete the volume from the catalog...Now I
would like to restore the data which are on the tape.
How can I do that ?

"restore" does not work.
I'm trying bscan, but for the moment it does not work:
[09:56:49] root@master ~ # bscan -c /etc/bacula/bacula-sd.conf -v -V FSI-LES
/dev/nst0
bscan: butil.c:281 Using device: "/dev/nst0" for reading.
02-Apr 09:58 bscan JobId 0: Invalid slot=0 defined in catalog for Volume
"FSI-LES" on "LTO-5" (/dev/nst0). Manual load may be required.
02-Apr 09:58 bscan JobId 0: 3301 Issuing autochanger "loaded? drive 0"
command.
02-Apr 09:58 bscan JobId 0: 3302 Autochanger "loaded? drive 0", result is
Slot 46.
02-Apr 09:58 bscan JobId 0: Ready to read from volume "FSI-LES" on device
"LTO-5" (/dev/nst0).
bscan: bscan.c:308 Using Database: bacula, User: bacula
bscan: bscan.c:450 Pool record for Scratch found in DB.
bscan: bscan.c:464 Pool type "Backup" is OK.
bscan: bscan.c:482 VOL_LABEL: Media record not found for Volume: FSI-LES
bscan: bscan.c:492 Media type "LTO5" is OK.
bscan: bscan.c:502 VOL_LABEL: OK for Volume: FSI-LES
bscan: bscan.c:526 SOS_LABEL: Job record not found for JobId: 0

Any ideas ?

Best regards,
Guillaume
