This could be a bug in davfs affecting mtime of the files. See 
http://savannah.nongnu.org/support/?107688. Check if the mtime for a 
file changes after:
    - mount
    - read file
    - umount
    - mount
    - read file again

The mtime should not change, but apparently it can if your davfs is 
affected by this bug.
