There are a couple of tools for generating labels for laser sheets.

Otherwise, a Brother TZ-labeller prints type 39 narrow barcodes on 
TZ-241 18mm laminated tapes  which are a good fit (16mm would be better 
but isn't made) and readable in almost all robots. The labellers have a 
nifty function where they can print up to 100 sequentially numbered 
labels at a time.
