[Bacula-users] Windows 2008: Fatal error: VSS was not initialized properly
2012-05-31 05:51:32
Hi,
i installed bacula-win32-5.2.6 on Windows 2008 x64. When i try to start
the backup, the server logs say: "Fatal error: VSS was not initialized
properly". As far as i read, i have to add the user that the bacula
service is running under to the registry key
(HKLM->System->currentControlSet->services->VSS->VssAccessControl).
There is already one key defined (NT Authority\Network Service). The
bacula-service runs as "Lokales Systemkonto" which might be "local
system" or "local system account". Whatever key i try to add there in
the registry, the error remains. My knowledge of Windows is quite limited.
What would be the right key that i have to add there? Or should i change
the account that bacula uses? Or should i disable VSS?
Thanks for any help!
Sincerely
M. Müller
