Tapes are marked Full at the point that a write failed. It is assumed
at that point that the tape is full. Remember with a streaming tape
drive that holds a variable amount of space due to compression and
other factors its not easy to determine that the tape is full. In your
case I would check your dmesg to look for any scsi or other errors
that could be causing this..
