Hello,

If you are a beta tester or a regression tester, now is the time to start
running your nightly regressions for version 5.1 (in the Source Forge git
repo branch "Branch-5.1") and posting the results to our cmake dashboard.

If you would like to do beta testing, now is the time to start testing, but
for the moment, I do not recommend putting Branch-5.1 into production. We
are now starting to stabilize it, and only have one or two more features to
add, testing to do, documentation to prepare, an in about a month (hopefully
a maximum of two) it will be ready for release.

In the Bacula survey one user asked for a lot more and better beta testing, so
now is the time to help out :-)

We particularly need testers for systems other than RedHat 5/6 and other than
Ubuntu -- for example, Solaris sparc, Solaris i86, OpenSolaris i86,
FreeBSD, ...

Instructions for doing automated regression testing are in the README in
the "regress" directory, and more detailed document is in the Developer's
guide on the web site.

Best regards,

Kern
