[Bacula-users] better job monitoring
2010-08-21 20:48:59
Currently I get an email after each job, which is fine up to now - I get
20-30 emails in the morning and can quickly glance over them and see if
anything failed.
I'm experimenting with taking SQL logfile backups from a remote site
every 15 minutes, which is working well but I get an email for every
job. Even if I turned off the email on success, I still don't really
want to see the failures unless there are more than (say) 4 in a row -
the link isn't the most reliable and I don't want to be alerted about a
backup job failure just because the link went down for a bit.
I'm using nagios right now for lots of things but not for bacula but I
believe a module exists... would nagios combined with appropriate
notification rules be a good option? I'm investigating openNMS and
Zabbix as alternatives to nagios so I don't want to invest a lot of time
in nagios at the moment.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks
James
