Re: [Bacula-users] Job/File/Volumes Retention - Need to truncate Volumes
2010-08-10 06:20:56
I think I have understood wrong when I translate from english to Italian
File and job retention are use to destroy the data, but if Volume have retention period less than them purge the catalog too!!
Now I had used a dump to restore the DB and bscan to add the new volumes

Ther's something wrong!
I have changed the retention on Client:
Client { Name = db-fd Password = Passxxx Address = db FDPort = 9102 Catalog = MyCatalog File Retention = 6 days
Job Retention = 6 days }
I have this log today: 09-Aug 20:00 storage-dir JobId 9020: Begin pruning Jobs older than 6 days . 09-Aug 20:00 storage-dir JobId 9020: Pruned 457 Jobs for client db-fd from catalog.
This client work with 2 jobs, 1 is normal bck and the other one is a Job for the Logs. The retention of the POOL is 180d:
Pool { Name = POOL-log Use Volume _Once_ = no Pool Type = Backup
AutoPrune = no # Accept Any Volume = yes Maximum Volume Bytes = 4GB VolumeRetention = 180d Recycle = no LabelFormat = "DVD_${Year}-${Month}-${Day}_${Hour}-${Minute}" }
Why I have lose al the data in the catalog?
I can't find these backup in the 'list jobs'
