Hi at all,
yesterday my TAPE reader (an HP LTO3 Ultrium) stop
working, without a reason. I'm using Bacula 5.0.0 on
Centos 5.4 (32bit).
I've tried to change the Tape (T've supposed was damaged)
without better results, also using a new tape.
Then, I stopped everything and I've tried to run btape test:
$ btape -c bacula-sd.conf /dev/nst0
Tape block granularity is 1024 bytes.
btape: butil.c:285 Using device: "/dev/nst0" for writing.
btape: btape.c:476 open device "LTO-3" (/dev/nst0): OK
*test

=== Write, rewind, and re-read test ===

I'm going to write 10000 records and an EOF
then write 10000 records and an EOF, then rewind,
and re-read the data to verify that it is correct.

This is an *essential* feature ...

btape: btape.c:1148 Wrote 10000 blocks of 64412 bytes.
btape: btape.c:604 Bad status from weof. ERR=dev.c:1740
ioctl MTWEOF error on "LTO-3" (/dev/nst0).
ERR=Input/output error.

01-Apr 11:21 btape JobId 0: Error: block.c:573 Write error
at 0:10000 on device "LTO-3" (/dev/nst0). ERR=Input/output
error.
01-Apr 11:21 btape JobId 0: Error: Error writing final EOF
to tape. This Volume may not be readable.
dev.c:1740 ioctl MTWEOF error on "LTO-3" (/dev/nst0).
ERR=Input/output error.
btape: btape.c:1160 Error writing block to device.

Searching with google, I've founded a tip about SD
configuration: add a TWO OEF = yes in the LTO section, but
neither this one works. Following what I can see from
dmesg:
