[Bacula-users] restoring directly from archived files
2010-01-16 17:49:47
My backup storage is file based, and I periodically copy the files that
are bacula volumes to DVD.
How can I restore directly from DVD? The DVD is not being used in a
raw, tape-like way; it simply holds a filesystem that has some of the
volumes on it.
I tried this in bacula-sd.conf
Device {
Name = File2Storage
Media Type = DVD/CD
Archive Device = /media/cdrom0
Device Type = File; # not using it as raw DVD
LabelMedia = no; # lets Bacula label unlabeled media
Random Access = Yes;
AutomaticMount = yes; # when device opened, read it
RemovableMedia = yes;
AlwaysOpen = no;
}
where File2Storage is the same name as my file-based backups, but the
media type is different.
However, I have not figured out how to tell the restore command to use
that storage.
I'd appreciate any pointers. I'm using bacula 2.4.3 on Debian GNU/Linux
(lenny).
Thanks.
