Additionally, I have had all sorts of problems with the SD under 2008
x64 (ie I saw problems there, they may or may not exist under other
windows flavours). Basically, the call to write data to the tape drive
fails for no apparent reason. My workaround is to just retry on failure
and hope that the operation succeeds before the retry limit is exceeded.
There is nothing wrong with the Bacula code that I can see, just the
Windows API is returning a fail every so often for no good reason -
there was already a retry built into the code, I just had to increase
the limit by a fair bit more.

You almost certainly won't have problems with backing up to disk, but I
think Kern's plan to remove it from the installer is a good one, lest it
starts to suffer from bitrot.
