hi

I have some Workstations, Laptops, Servers, Refrigerators ;-) ... all
backup to a single Tape Drive. Of course I want concurrent Jobs, working
fine. However, Maximum Concurrent Jobs has to be set greater than 1 for
the Storage.

I also have some Hosts who are served by the same Director but every one
of them has its own storage daemon. Maximum Concurrent Jobs is set to 1
for those Storage Daemons.

Now I add a machine with multiple virtual machines running.
On this Host i dont want concurrent Jobs killing the machine because of I/
O of course.

My first approach was to assign priorities.

Laptop X -> Priority 10
Server X -> Priority 10
External Host X -> Priority 10
Refrigerator X -> ?
Virtual Machine A -> Priority 40
Virtual Machine B -> Priority 41
...

All Jobs are scheduled for the same time, so the Normal Order of is
1) all Laptops, server, External Hosts, and of course the Fridges
2) Virtual Machine A
3) Virtual Machine B
4) ...

Last Weekend: I went to a, well, call it recreational weekend. Friday
Night Virtual Machine X called for another Volume. i was absent of
course. Saturday Night it was still calling for that volume blocking all
other Jobs, even the Priority 10 Jobs (although many of them are using
 other Storage).

I now configured
Allow Mixed Priority = yes
But of course thats a one way ticket. Virtual Machines can not block
other Backups now (because Virtual Machines are of priority > 10) but it
is theoretically possible that a Waiting Priority 10 Job is blocking the
Backup of the Virtual Machines.

How to avoid this ? Can I serialize a group of Jobs without setting
Priority ?
