Hi all,

I've read this thread about planned support for multicore software compression:
http://www.mail-archive.com/bacula-devel AT lists.sourceforge DOT
net/msg03852.html

Until that feature arrives, I was wondering, if it would it be possible to make
Bacula use pigz, the parallel implementation of gzip, by modifying the
configure script to look for pigz instead of gzip. However, I did not find the
relevant lines. Maybe Bacula uses whatever gzip is in the PATH? If it was like
that: Would it be possible to just replace the gzip binary with the pigz one?

Has anyone tried something like that?

Regards,
Jan
