I have a Bacula installation backing up to AIT-2 and AIT-5 tapes in an
autochanger. Previously, using Netvault, this customer was able to backup
around 1.4Tb of data (full backup) in around 24 hours, which is about
16.2Mb/second. Currently, with Bacula, after about 48 hours the backup job
is around half-way complete:

Running Jobs:
JobId 14 Job Client1.2008-05-24_12.54.03 is running.
Backup Job started: 24-May-08 12:55
Files=7,535,220 Bytes=748,868,765,909 Bytes/sec=4,186,009 Errors=0
Files Examined=7,535,220
Processing file: [deleted]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As shown above, the data rate is just over 4Mb/second. This is a full
backup, so there is no searching for modified files, etc.
What sort of things should I be looking at to find out why the data
transfer rate is so slow?
Thanks,
Keith
