just solved the problem.
so CentOS 7 works with BackupPC 3.x

next problem:
I tried to install BackupPC 4.0a3 on a clean CentOS 7 (VM)

step by step, many steps ...
i am now stuck at installing mod_scgi
it require apxs2 to compile which is not found in httpd-devel
i have no idea how to build it from source website

it doesn't work if i replace apxs2 with apxs
