Hey Les,

You're right, after some further investigation - it was - as the files
"date modified" was prior to the date of the last full backup. I used
touch on the files to change the date modified, and they got backed up.

Guess I'm still stuck in Symancrap BackupExec's Archive Bit mentality :p

It may be normal - if your 2nd run was an incremental and the method
used to copy the files preserved a timestamp earlier than your prior
full run.  Smb and tar backups can only use the file timestamps to
determine what to include.   That's one of the advantages of
rsync/rsynd which can actually compare the directories.

If that is the case, they should be included in your next full run.
