As referenced here, there was talk of providing a way for sending test emails. It would be nice to have this ability to test/verify email setup within BackupPC web GUI.
However, how/where does BackupPC know what SMTP server to use for sending email? Is there a configuration option somewhere to specify an SMTP server to use? Logged in as the backuppc user, I am running:
BackupPC_sendEmail -t |less
And it shows the email content, but not whether it was successful sending it, or if it was sent at all. I haven't received the email, so there seems to be some configuration I'm missing somewhere.
